Welcome to Painyme, a nation of saints and sinners, of foul heresy and undying devotion. Within this tome, a grim world of medieval horror awaits. Players will find themselves navigating a land poised between two extremes: the Ecclesiarchy's justice and order on one side and the silken allure of heresy and power on the other. 

Who will you serve? There is the church of a dead god, who answers no prayers and performs no miracles. There are also Traitor Gods, who gather souls and cults to their bosom with promises of power. Or... will you dare to put your head above the head of a serpent, and instead serve only yourself?

What lies within?

Character Creation.  Who were you, before you joined the guild? Find out using the unique Doomsong character creation. All you need is 1D6, a coin, and the 100 Life Paths within this book. Gain traits, abilities, profane relics, occult powers... all during the simple fun mini-game that is Character Creation!

Rules. Structure for your games. Doomsong has been described as having "just the right amount of crunch." This book contains innovative rules for initiative and combat, how to perform checks using the Doomcoin, levelling up your character during downtime, and more.

Abilities. Characters can learn skills that change how they interact with the world. Some of these are used during combat. Others relate to knowledge and study. Still others are gifts from the Traitor Gods... heresy, in other words: little miracles that allow players to manipulate the very fabric of the world...

Heretical Pantheon. Painyme is home to gods, both living and dead. They wend through the world, turning hearts and minds away from the uncorrupted light of the Immortal. This book describes 30 Traitor Gods (as well as 1 Divine Corpse and Their Destruction). It also provides just enough lore to get your teeth into things, without overloading you!

NPCs. Characters and creatures to help bring the world to life. Each NPC comes with a description, an at-a-glance list of "Wants" and "Hates" and a statblock for combat encounters.
