Community RPG Club Tickets | Weekly Sessions at Behold Games
Behold Games is passionate about nurturing the role-playing community, and we're excited to have some of our community members host open-table RPG sessions.
These sessions are open to anyone who wishes to join them, simply reserve a spot by buying a ticket which covers the room hire for the community GM's use.
Each week is a different RPG system, and beginners are absolutely welcome, however our sessions are all age 18+ (unless otherwise noted). All sessions start at 6:30PM and wrap up by 10:30PM.
Upcoming Sessions:
Thu 24 Sep. Returning to the World We Left Behind
Facilitator: Sophie (she/her)
Players: 3-4
Age: 18+
Welcome galactic explorer to the second mission back to Nova Castria. Learn about the planet's flora and fauna while exploring what the last team missed completely. What new clues can you find amongst the remnants of the planet? How will that change the narrative of happened to the sapient species that called this planet home? During this casual worldbuilding game, players draw and write on playing cards to create a planet and its traits, and uncover the mystery of the species that left this world behind.
Thu 1 Oct. Oh, Dang! Bigfoot Stole My Car With My Friend's Birthday Present Inside (Lasers & Feelings)
GM: Will (he/him)
Players: 3-5
Age: 18+
You’re supposed to be heading to a friend’s place for a sweet birthday party. But you stopped to buy a card, and when you came out... oh, dang! Your car is being stolen! And is that Bigfoot at the wheel?! It’s time to go on a wacky road trip and chase that sasquatch down!
Oh, Dang! Bigfoot Stole My Car With My Friend's Birthday Present Inside is a hack of John Harper's Lasers & Feelings about going on a road trip to track down Bigfoot, get your car back, and maybe learn a little something on the way.
Wed 7 Oct. Mythomorphosis
Facilitator: Blair (he/him)
Players: 3-4
Age: 18+
Every old story has an older version. Some were changed for good reason.
In this GMless folk-horror game, we begin with a local legend and trace it backwards through generations. Details return that were once erased. Customs recover meanings nobody remembers anymore. Comfortable explanations give way to older, stranger versions shaped by fear, grief, shame, and necessity.
Together, we’ll uncover the history of a community and the tale it tells about itself. We may learn what people wanted forgotten. We may learn why they forgot it. But the oldest story we find still may not be the truth.
Thu 15 Oct. The Zone
Grotesque Mutant: Rachel (she/him)
Players: 3-5
Age: 18+
☢️☢️☢️ Get lost in the dark! Mutate your friends! The Zone is a surreal, play-to-lose horror RPG, where we tell the story of a doomed expedition into the heart of a mysterious quarantine zone. Exactly what strange horrors lie within are shaped by each character's own obsessions and phobias, and the characters themselves are twisted and mutated by the zone in turn, until only one is left to claim the wish at the centre! ☢️☢️☢️
Wed 21 Oct. Swoop: Attack of the Magpies (Dread)
Dread Lord: Hannah (she/they)
Players: 3-6
Age: 18+
“What is black and white – and red all over?”
You are a group of students on a camping trip deep into the Australian bush. While hiking through this beautiful National Park you hear the magpies eerily calling out to each other. Known to be territorial birds, you will soon learn how deadly they can really be.
Come be part of Australiana's answer to Hitchcock's The Birds in this game of Dread. Pull blocks from the Jenga tower to determine your fate, but watch out - if it falls the consequences could be fatal.
Thu 29 Oct. The Skeletons
Facilitator: Nathan (He/Him)
Players: 3-6
Age: 18+
For countless years you have stood watch in the darkness. You do not remember your name, your life, or why you were chosen for this duty. Flesh has long since fallen from your bones, but still you guard the tomb.
In The Skeletons, the classic dungeon crawl is turned on its head. You aren't the adventurers, you are the undead guardians waiting for them.
Centuries may pass between these brief moments of violence. Kingdoms rise and fall, the tomb changes around you, and fragments of your forgotten life slowly return. Who were you before you became a skeleton? What are you protecting? And after an eternity of watching in the dark, how much of the person you once were remains?
What you need to know:
- The person running or facilitating the game each week will explain the rules on the night, no need for preparation. Complexity will vary, but the vibe will always be casual and supportive. There won't be any pressure to "get the rules right".
- They'll provide characters to choose from where appropriate.
- Players should bring pen and paper and a set of polyhedral dice (we also sell dice in the store!).
- They will try to capture the "vibe" of each game in the descriptions. Players are encouraged to match that energy.
- Different games use different dice. They'll make sure to provide what is needed, but everyone is welcome to bring their own standard set if they want to.
- The room will be open from 6pm and the introduction/game will start at 6:30.
- All games are 18+ unless otherwise noted. This is at the GMs discretion.
- The Community RPG Club only takes on GMs who have participated in RPGs run by the group already - if you're interested in running a game please start by attending some and getting to know the group first.
