Year of the Horse Draft - Magic: The Gathering

Year of the Fire Horse is here, and we'll be running a draft in March to celebrate!

We're running a chaos draft featuring horses, mounts, and fire! Each player will receive 3 play boosters from the below sets:

• Outlaws of Thunder Junction Play Booster
• Dragons of Tarkir
• Aetherdrift

Important Information:

• Format: Booster Draft (keep what you draft), followed by 3 rounds of in-pod Swiss pairings.
• Weekend Times: Doors open 12:00pm for a 12:30pm start.
• Prizing/Promos
  
  •  Caustic Bronco & Treasure Token for participating (handed out during the 2nd round of play)
  • If you go 3-0 at the end of the event, you'll get a bonus Lorwyn Eclipsed Play Booster.
    
  • If you go 0-3 at the end of the event, you'll get a Spider-Man Play Booster.

How to Booster Draft:

Each player will start with three booster packs. They will all simultaneously open a booster pack and pick a single card without showing the other players. Then they will pass the remaining cards to the left, and continues drafting from the new cards they get from the player on their right. This continues until all of the cards in those packs have been distributed (drafted). Then each player opens a second pack, but this time, pass the pack to the right. After all those cards are drafted, you do the same with the third pack, passing to the left again. At the end, each player will have about 45 cards (along with any number of basic lands) which they can use to build a 40 card deck.

Players are expected to understand the basic rules and etiquette of Magic: the Gathering and can play unassisted. It is a requirement of the event, prizes and promos that you have registered with and use the Magic Companion App.
