Session

Behold Games is passionate about nurturing the role-playing community, and we're excited to announce that some of our community members have taken the initiative to host open-table RPG sessions. These sessions are open to anyone who wishes to join them, simply reserve a spot by buying a ticket which covers the room hire for the community GM's use.

Each week is a different RPG system, and beginners are absolutely welcome, however our sessions are all age 18+ (unless otherwise noted). All sessions start at 6:30PM and wrap up by 10:30PM.

Upcoming Sessions:

Thu 4 Jun. In This World

Players: 3-5
GM: Blair (he/him)
Age: 18+

Nations have borders. Police carry badges. Dragons breathe fire. You work for money.

That's the world we've come to expect. But in this world — the world we create together — we can question those assumptions and imagine alternatives. And instead of just making one world, we'll make a whole string, each exploring a different slice of what could be… all in a few hours.

Wed 10 Jun. The Cursed Knights of Crestmoor (Shadowdark)

GM: Jayo (he/him)
Players: 3-6
Age: 18+

Sir Galen the Brave was once a legend, but his deeds have faded into myth and his tomb is now lost to ivy and shadow. We’re heading in for a classic dungeon crawl. Don’t expect to be a superhero here, the tomb holds threats that will easily claim the lives of those who rush in without a plan.

Shadowdark is old-school gaming redesigned with modern mechanics. It's fast, familiar, and intuitive (if you know 5e, you'll pick it up in minutes), but much more lethal. Light is your most precious resource: torches last for 1 hour of real time and nobody has darkvision. I’ll have level 1 pre-gens ready, but feel free to bring your own or we can roll fresh ones at the table!

Thu 18 Jun. The Quiet Year

Facilitator: Hannah (she/they)
Players: 3-5
Age: 18+

For a long time, we were at war with The Jackals. But now, we’ve driven them off, and we have this – a year of relative peace. One quiet year, with which to build our community.

The Quiet Year is a narrative driven map drawing game. Players represent a community.who are tasked with making decisions, starting projects and settling tensions through the seasons of a relatively "quiet year" before the arrival of Frost Shepherds.

Wed 24 Jun. Spire: The City Must Fall

Gamesmaster: Rachel (she/him)
Players: 3-5
Age: 18+

You are a dark elf. Your home, the towering city of Spire, was occupied by the high elves two hundred years ago. Now, you have joined a secret organisation known as the Ministry, a paramilitary cult with a single aim – to overthrow the cruel high elves and restore the drow as the rightful rulers of the city. What – or who – will you sacrifice to achieve your aims? Will you evade the attention of the authorities, or end up shot in the street like so many before you?

What you need to know:

  • The person running or facilitating the game each week will explain the rules on the night, no need for preparation. Complexity will vary, but the vibe will always be casual and supportive. There won't be any pressure to "get the rules right".
  • They'll provide characters to choose from where appropriate.
  • Players should bring pen and paper and a set of polyhedral dice (we also sell dice in the store!).
  • They will try to capture the "vibe" of each game in the descriptions. Players are encouraged to match that energy.
  • Different games use different dice. They'll make sure to provide what is needed, but everyone is welcome to bring their own standard set if they want to.
  • The room will be open from 6pm and the introduction/game will start at 6:30.
  • All games are 18+ unless otherwise noted. This is at the GMs discretion.
  • The Community RPG Club only takes on GMs who have participated in RPGs run by the group already - if you're interested in running a game please start by attending some and getting to know the group first.
